What is a Slip Ring?

How Does a Slip Ring Work?
A slip ring typically consists of the following components:
- Rotor (rotating part): Connects to the rotating side of the machine.
- Stator (stationary part): Connects to the fixed side of the machine.
- Conductive rings & brushes: The brushes (often made of graphite or precious metal) maintain contact with the rotating rings, allowing electricity or signals to flow through without breaking connection.
As the rotor spins, the brushes slide over the conductive rings, maintaining a stable electrical path — even during rotation.
