What is a PCB Slip Ring and How Does It Work?
A PCB slip ring (also called a flat slip ring or pancake slip ring) is an electrical part used to pass power and data from a fixed part to a 360° turning part.
Normal slip rings stack copper rings like a tall tube. PCB slip rings print flat copper rings onto a circuit board (like a flat disc). Metal brushes touch these flat rings while turning to keep electricity flowing in tiny spaces.
Separated Type (Rotor & Stator)
The turning disc and fixed brush parts come separately. Best for super flat machines where total height must be under 5mm.
Integrated Type (With Housing)
The PCB and brushes are built inside an aluminum cover with bearings. Easy to install and keeps out dust.
